Program Mentor:

Theia Ramsammy (she/they) is an emerging artist and arts facilitator based in Toronto, Canada. Her creative journey weaves together diverse threads of identity, resulting in a rich and multidisciplinary practice. Through photography, illustration, animation, painting, sculpture, poetry, installation, and digital arts, Theia explores themes that resonate deeply with her lived experience as a queer, trans, and multiethnic individual.

Moreover, Theia is committed to creating inclusive art exhibition/production environments—spaces that nourish systemically underserved communities, regardless of their technical background or education.

Her goal with this is to create pieces that remain sensorially interesting regardless of how each viewer is or is not able to connect to a particular narrative.

In addition, Theia's artwork has been featured in several notable exhibitions, including the DesignTO Festival (2023), Nuit Blanche (2022), and the Regent Park Under the Stars Film Festival (2021). Theia has also pursued studies in visual art at both Humber College and OCAD University.
