rudiejay is a writer, storyteller, poet and performing artist.
She utilizes creative platforms to express themes of grief, girlhood, biracialism, identity and belonging that promote hope and healing. She is privileged to dedicate time and resources toward sharing her story and believes art is a profound tool that enables us to transcend skin color, social status and pain.
She holds the second place title in the 2024 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam and represented her hometown on the Women of the World Poetry Slam stage in Baltimore. She has self-published two collections of written work and is set to release a full length poetry EP in 2025.
