Last Tuesdays and Accessibility

JAYU’s Last Tuesdays program is committed to values of inclusivity and accessibility for all guests, staff, volunteers and artists.

Location

Our entire Last Tuesdays program will have the option of watching virtually. Cozy up with your computer, tablet, or phone and enjoy it from the comfort of… anywhere!

If you would like to join us in-person for events, they will commonly take place at the JAYU Studio, located at 401 Richmond St. W. in suite 380. Both entrances to the building are accessible by wheelchair and lead to an elevator. All washrooms are accessible.

Any in-person events that take place outside of the JAYU studio will be clearly stated on the event page with accessibility information.

Mental Health Access | Online Held Space

We recognize that some of the content and discussions we have at Last Tuesdays might bring various levels of discomfort and triggering feelings. In line with a commitment to being trauma-informed, each Last Tuesdays event will have an Online Held Space containing mental health resources and active listeners. You will have access to Online Held Spaces through Google Hangouts during and after programs, should you need support. You are welcome to turn your camera on or off when accessing the Online Held Space.

Captioning

All films at Last Tuesdays will be screened with captions.

Live Captioning | Transcription

We are currently working on ensuring that all live events at Last Tuesdays this year will be live captioned. Please check back here for more information.

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation

We will provide ASL interpretation for all events at Last Tuesdays, including films, performances, workshops, and talks.

Financial Access

Financial accessibility is important to us. That’s why we’ve made every Last Tuesdays event free this year.
